WELCOME TO THE REUNION SITE

The Grady-Wills reunion was held in October this year at Givhans Ferry State Park. We had a good crowd, many camped some in cabins. The traditions continued with great food and great music. Hopefully, we can all add to this page and give ourselves a spot to post family happenings and photos. Send me all your pictures and happenings and I will get them onto the blog as soon as possible. Make sure everyone in your immediate family has the site address. You can send photos and email to me at dixie.roberts@hotmail.com Most of what is posted is from my camera so far.Kelly has a video on her reserfam blog ( link is on this page) of the younger generation pulling out the bluegrass. I thought the Grady boys would come right up out of the ground. Thanks , Lisa and all your helpers for putting this all together every year. Anyone who would like to contribute to the reunion fund can get in touch with Lisa ( Louise's granddaughter) by emailing her at : lisa.grainer@yahoo.com The expense for the rental of the hall and all the decorations and paper products needs to be shared by all of us. Dixie

SEND ME YOUR RECIPE

turkey cranberry wreath

Many of you asked for this recipe at the last two reunions. It is a Pampered Chef recipe from years ago. Kelly brought these to the reunion last year. Don't leave anything out... the parsley ( fresh) and the honey dijon really make it delicious. Hope you enjoy ... when you bake it, coat the top with egg white for a shiny finish on the wreath and then garnish with greenery and some cherries to make it look like a Christmas wreath.

Turkey Cranberry Wreath
2 pkg. (235g each) refrigerated crescent rolls1/2 C. mayonnaise2 T. honey Dijon mustard1/2 tsp. coarsely ground pepper2 C. cooked turkey, chopped1/2 C. celery, sliced3 T. fresh parsley, snipped1/2 C. dried cranberries4 oz. Swiss cheese, shredded (1cup)1/4 C. walnuts, chopped (optional)1 egg, separated
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Unroll crescent dough; separate into 16 triangles. With wide ends of triangles toward the center. arrange 8 triangles in a circle on Large Round Stone. Corners of wide ends will touch and points will extend 1 inch beyond of baking stone. Arrange remaining 8 triangles in center. matching ends. Seal seams using pizza roller. (Points will overlap in center; do not seal.)
Measure mayonnaise, mustard and black pepper into a bowl. Grate cheese into a bowl. Mix filling. Scoop filling over seams of dough, forming a circle

After you make the filling mixture and place the crescents in a circle, you put the filling in the dough...the pointy ends of the crescents are place in center until they are pulled out one by one and criss-cross the points pulled in from the outside of the pan

criss cross the ends on each other a little more than this ... I did not make this one...found the photos online

if you coat the top with egg white, it will be shiny and much prettier than this... also the garnish can be fresh parsley sprigs with whole maraschino cherries in them...made to look like holly. I use three garnishes around the wreath.

Dinner Campside

Thanks to Joey and Sharon again this year for hosting the Friday night dinner at their campsite. The food is always delicious. We were so blessed to have perfect camping weather. Joey fired up the cooker and put out a spread of brats, hot dogs, oysters , boiled peanuts...it was really a smorgasboard. The kids roasted marshmallows and played in the campfire just like we all did when we were the kids.
Some set up tents, some had campers and some had cabins but we all gathered to enjoy the park and each other.
